HMAS Vendetta

HMAS Vendetta was the first Australian built Daring Class Destroyer. It was laid down on 4 July 1949 at Williamstown Naval Dockyard, and was commissioned on November 26 1958. HMAS Vendetta served in Vietnam in 1969 and was paid off into unmaintained reserve in 1979. Leo Groenendyk took these photos whilst she was docked at Port Melbourne in March 1976.
